Freshness: All our produce is lovely and fresh, with a longer shelf life compared to what you can buy from the supermarket! You may even be surprised by how our fresh produce tastes, it just tastes better!
Eco-Friendly: Here at Widmore Farm we are trying to be as eco-friendly as possible with improvements happening all the time. Our packaging is fully recyclable, and with a shorter supply chain our produce travels a much shorter distance to your door. Obviously, the more exotic fruit such as oranges will come from abroad.
Healthier Eating with Variety: Having a regular fruit and vegetable box and your fridge full with lovely fresh produce encourages you to eat in a healthier way more regularly. It may also encourage you to try fruit and veggies that you never have before!
Delivery: If you are worried about not being in to receive your box then don't panic! We deliver all our boxes at night, just like the milkman. Your box will be delivered fresh to your door for when you wake up on your set delivery day! If you have a safe place you would like it left then just leave a note in the delivery instructions and our friendly delivery driver can leave your fresh box in your safe place. If the weather is bad over night our boxes will be placed inside a reusable bag so you will not wake up to a soggy box!
Easy ordering: Our ordering platform enables you to have an easy shopping experience and flexibility. To combat food waste you can get more of what you like and less of what you don't when you want it! Customise your box manually each week with up to 5 swaps per box, set your likes and dislikes in your account for automatic swaps each week and easily pause, skip and book holidays.
We are passionate about supporting local: The majority of produce you find in our online farm shop is sourced locally. We have extensive connections with other small, local growers to bring you the best Kent & neighbouring Home counties produce when not grown/ ready to harvest on our own farm. We also support the local community further by donating surplus to the local food bank in Paddock Wood - The Community Storehouse - as we believe that it is a worthy cause and everyone within our community deserves the chance for farm fresh produce to form part of their meals.
We are serious about minimising food waste: We are pleased to say with confidence that virtually none of our food goes to waste. Fresh produce is picked to order. Baked goods are baked to order. When we have a glut or a harvest that will not keep fresh until the next boxes are delivered, we deliver the produce to the local food bank in Paddock Wood as well as providing to the wholesale market and other farms when necessary. We are not like a supermarket that grades out perfectly tasty fruit and veg for not being the right shape, size or cosmetically perfect; we always try and find a use for everything, be that juicing apples that are 'imperfect' or ensuring our 2 and 4 legged friends have a constant supply of fruit and veggies that they love - even the significantly 'ugly' ones are devoured by the dogs, horses, ducks and hens.
Family Business: When you purchase produce from us you are really making a difference to the prosperity of our small, Kent working farm to ensure the knowledge and farming skills can be handed down for generations to come to preserve your local, rural community. We are not a big commercial company shipping produce all over the country or world, it is just our family. No offshore call centres, it’s just us! We grow or source the produce ourselves from other small farms, pack the produce ourselves and deliver the produce ourselves. That being said, we are also running a working farm at the same time so do leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
